This Ecosystems Knowledge Network webinar will focus on the i-Tree Eco software, a tool that analyses the benefits of tree cover in the built environment. The tool provides data on the structure and composition of the urban trees and estimates the ecosystem services that they provide in towns and cities. It was recently used by Torbay Council, where the tool calculated that carbon storage by Torbay's trees was worth £1.5m, and their pollutant removal was worth £1.3m (see article). The tool also analyses how much rain water is intercepted by trees in urban areas.

The i-Tree Eco tool will be presented by Kenton Rogers (Treeconomics) and Kieon Doick (Forest Research). They will present how the tool has been used in UK case studies at Sidmouth, Glasgow, and Swansea and the Tawe Catchment, as well as at Torbay and in an up-coming study for London. To reserve a place please email with 'i-Tree webinar' in the title.

The Ecosystems Knowledge Network is the UK's leading resource to help people manage land and water in ways that provide greater benefit for all. The EKN aims to show what a holistic and inclusive approach to looking after the natural environment, known as the ecosystem approach, looks like in practice.
